New York Society of Teachers of Dancing

Member Since 1948
On June 3, 1914, a group of dance instructors with a vision met in Manhattan. When the meeting was over, their vision had become a reality. A new dance teachers' organization was born. It was called the New York Society of Teachers of Dancing. On June 22nd, the Certificate of Incorporation was filed with the State, making it official.
NYSTD has grown and flourished in the years that have passed since its establishment. The founding mothers and fathers decided early on to make it an all-ballroom organization, and it remains so to this day. Our members enjoy six workshops and two parties every year, where an atmosphere of congeniality prevails.
